CITROËN RACING IN FORMULA E: A DEBUT TO REMEMBER

From a podium in São Paulo to a historic first victory in Mexico City just one race later, Citroën Racing wasted no time making its presence felt in Formula E.
Season 12 opened an entirely new chapter for the brand: a new championship, a new technical challenge and Citroën’s first full season in single-seater racing. Seventeen rounds later, the team brought its maiden Formula E campaign to a close with fifth place in the Teams’ Championship.

A FIRST PODIUM IN THE VERY FIRST RACE

It began in São Paulo.
Starting 15th on the grid, Nick Cassidy carved his way through the field to finish third, delivering a podium in Citroën Racing’s very first Formula E appearance. It was a storybook beginning. And just one race later, the next chapter was written in victory.
In Mexico City, Cassidy charged from 13th to first to claim Citroën Racing’s maiden Formula E win. Jean-Éric Vergne completed a remarkable afternoon for the team, climbing from P18 to P8 and helping Citroën leave the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez at the top of the championship standings. Two races. Two comebacks. A podium. A victory.
Citroën Racing had arrived.
 

MADRID, ANOTHER FIRST

The milestones kept coming.
In Madrid a few races later, Nick Cassidy delivered another first for Citroën Racing, securing the team’s maiden Formula E pole position. It was another landmark moment in an already remarkable opening chapter, and further proof of the pace the team had unlocked.
But Formula E rarely follows a perfect script.
As the season unfolded, more challenging weekends tested the team in different ways, underlining the intensity of the championship and the fine margins that define it. Strategy, energy management and collective execution would all prove just as important as outright speed that defines racing.
 

BACK ON THE PODIUM IN BERLIN

Berlin brought Citroën Racing back into the spotlight.
At Tempelhof, Nick Cassidy delivered a measured, commanding drive to second place, putting the team back on the podium and firmly back in the fight at the front.
It was more than another strong result. It was a reminder that Citroën Racing had the pace, composure and resilience to challenge the very best.
 

JEAN-ÉRIC VERGNE RETURNS TO THE PODIUM IN SHANGHAI

Shanghai brought another podium story, but this time from the other side of the garage.
After finishing sixth in the opening race of the weekend, Jean-Éric Vergne returned the following day with one of his strongest performances of the season. The two-time Formula E champion delivered a superb drive to second place, securing his first podium with Citroën Racing.
It was another milestone in a season already rich with firsts and further proof that the team’s strength extended across both sides of the garage.
 

A MEMORABLE DOUBLE PODIUM IN TOKYO

If Shanghai had built the momentum, Tokyo carried it even further.
Nick Cassidy delivered back-to-back podiums across the Japanese double-header, taking third in the opening race before doing one better with second place the following day. Jean-Éric Vergne added valuable points of his own, completing another strong weekend for the team.
For the first time in its Formula E journey, Citroën Racing had reached the podium in both races of the same weekend, extending a remarkable run to three consecutive podium finishes from Shanghai to Tokyo. But these results meant more than the trophies alone.
Against one of the most challenging backdrops of the season, they became a reflection of the resilience, commitment and unity within the team; proof that even in difficult moments, the group could come together, keep pushing and keep performing.
 

LONDON, THE LAST CHAPTER OF BOOK ONE

The first season came to a close in London.
After a challenging opening race at the unique indoor-outdoor ExCeL circuit, Citroën Racing responded in the final round of the season. Cassidy and Vergne crossed the line sixth and seventh respectfully, securing one final double-points finish before the chequered flag fell on Season 12. The result saw Citroën Racing complete its maiden Formula E campaign fifth in the Teams’ Championship, while Stellantis also secured third place in the Manufacturers’ World Championship.
For a team entering an entirely new territory, the season had delivered plenty to remember: a first victory, multiple podiums, a maiden pole position and repeated proof that Citroën Racing belonged at the front.
 
But perhaps most importantly, it laid the foundations for everything still to come.
The first book may be finished. The story is far from over.

ONE SEASON COMPLETE, A NEW ERA AHEAD

• São Paulo brought the first podium.
• Mexico City, the first victory.
• Madrid, the first pole position.
• Berlin, Shanghai and Tokyo proved the team could return to the front again and again.
• And in London, the first volume came to an end.

Now, the story moves forward.
 
With the arrival of GEN4 in Season 13, Formula E enters a new technological era. For Citroën Racing, it brings a fresh challenge and the opportunity to build on everything learned, achieved and experienced during its first season in the championship.
The foundations have been laid. The next season is about building on them: fighting at the front more consistently, pushing further and seeing just how much more there is still to write.
 
The first volume told the story of arrival. The next is about what comes after.
